The Embassy’s team participated at the Moldova-UK Forum meeting, which brought together representatives of several British non-governmental organizations active in the Republic of Moldova, as well as of the Moldovan diaspora in the United Kingdom.

The event offered the opportunity to exchange experiences and information between the members of the British charities that carry out assistance projects in the Republic of Moldova, constituting a useful platform for strengthening the cooperation between the British NGOs present in our country and the representatives of the Moldovan community in the United Kingdom.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in London, Angela Ponomariov, addressed the participants, stressing out the importance of intensifying the Moldovan-British cooperation at different levels, as well as the significance of the social projects implemented in the Republic of Moldova by the partners from the United Kingdom.

The event was also a good opportunity to promote the positive image of the Republic of Moldova, those present being encouraged to participate to the annual "Wine Day" Festival, "Moldova Business Week". The participants tasted Moldovan wines and traditional food.

Among the participants to the event were the British writer and actor Tony Hawks, who organized a Quiz about the Republic of Moldova, as well as one of the initiators of the creation of the Moldova-UK Forum, Jane Ebel. Both Tony and Jane were appointed Members of the Order of the British Empire for their charity activity carried out in the Republic of Moldova.
