Moldovan-British cooperation on defense is registering a scaling dynamic, with the British side continuing to support our country in training, developing strategic documents under the Defense Capacity Building Initiative, and as well preparing students of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun” for participation in the international competition “Cambrian Patrol”, which takes place annually in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Starting with 2017, every year (except 2020) the Moldovan military team participated in the competition, demonstrating an excellent performance and winning the silver medal in 2018 and 2019.
Moreover, the British Mobile Advisory and Training Team (BMATT) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland also provides training for Moldovan commanders in order to develop command skills for the lower officer corps, using advanced action procedures in military operations.
At the same time, in 2019, a Moldovan soldier was trained for the first time at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Great Britain. Cooperation in this field has been extended for the next period, by offering the possibility of training the Moldovan military in 2020 at the respective Academy, as well as at the Royal Air Force College in Cranwell and the Royal Naval Academy in Portsmouth Dockyard.
In 2018, British Government adopted the decision on the appointment of a military attaché at the British Embassy in Chisinau.
