The presentation of Moldovan films took place in London, and it was organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Great Britain. Three short films were presented to the audience, namely: “Ana”, “Evadare” (The Escape) and “Chers Amis” followed by discussions with directors Natalia Șaufert, Nicolae Negară and Valeriu Andriuță.

The event was welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Angela Ponomariov, who mentioned the projects implemented in the Republic of Moldova with the financial support of the EBRD, aimed at carrying out reforms. It was also pointed out that the themes of the presented films address problems faced by socially vulnerable groups not only in the Republic of Moldova, but in several countries, including the highly developed ones.

The event took place at the EBRD headquarters, bringing together about 350 participants, including: British officials, representatives of the EBRD leaders and bank officials, members of the diplomatic corps, businessmen, representatives of the local media and of the Moldovan community in the UK. The films presentation was followed by a Moldovan wines tasting.

During the presentation, an exhibition of the talented Moldovan painter works, Constantin Botezat, was organized, which can be visited until November 20, at the EBRD headquarters.

The event was an occasion to promote the positive image of our country as an attractive and fully unexplored tourist destination, the participants being offered promotional materials dedicated to the national treasure.

The Embassy expresses its sincere gratitude to the EBRD partners for the joint implementation of this initiative and to the guests for their presence.
