The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, Angela Ponomariov participated at the closing event the international military competition Cambrian Patrol, which took place between 11 and 19 October in Wales.

The Republic of Moldova has been represented by the team of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces, which demonstrated an excellent performance, winning the silver medal.

It is worth mentioning that the military competitions Cambrian Patrol, that are organised since 1959 annually in Wales, are considered as some of the most difficult military exercises in the world. This year, 132 teams from 34 countries have participated in competitions and they had to go 60 km in 48 hours, exceeding 8 evaluation levels. The performance of our team was characterized by the organizers as an exemplary one, especially considering the severe climate conditions in which the competition has been held: heavy rains and strong wind.

The Republic of Moldova is present in the given exercises for the third consecutive year, our country’s participation being possible due to the assistance offered by the Ministry of Defence of the Great Britain.
