The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova Angela Ponomariov met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Sir Suma Chakrabarti, in order to discuss the bilateral cooperation priorities between the Republic of Moldova and the EBRD, including from the perspective of the EBRD Moldova Country Strategy for 2017 - 2022.

During the discussions, the sides highlighted the importance of EBRD supported projects in various fields, such as energy security, private sector, banking development and infrastructure, aimed at raising the living standards of the population. Also, the interlocutors emphasised the significance of projects on consolidating the investment climate and business environment, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The EBRD President appreciated the actions taken by the Government of the Republic of Moldova oriented towards the implementation of the reform agenda, expressing the openness of the EBRD for further supporting the Republic of Moldova through projects in different priority areas, which contribute to the development of the country.
